HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Ricky Greenwood’s latest feature for MissaX.com celebrates Halloween and references the classic horror film, “Pet Sematary."
Greenwood also penned the script; the cast includes Penny Barber, Elena Koshka, Tommy Pistol and Jane Wilde.
"Shot in the cinematic style that Greenwood is known for, the movie pays homage to his favorite book and film character, Zelda Golman, from Stephen King’s ‘Pet Sematary,’” a rep said.
The story follows Mary (Wilde) coming back into the life of Paul (Pistol) life, which floods him with memories he’s tried to forget of his daughter, and Mary’s best friend, Alice (Koshka).
"After Alice’s very sad and emotional death from spinal meningitis, Mary cut ties with Paul and his wife, Veronica (Barber). A few years later, after the pain from Alice’s death hurts a little less, Mary comes to Paul and asks him to help her prepare for her college entrance exam," a rep explained. "They rekindle their relationship, but many of the memories of Alice’s death come flashing back for Paul. And then Paul finds out that Mary is looking for a different kind of help after class."
Greenwood said he wanted to write and direct "something special" for Halloween this year; he recreated the dress worn by Zelda Goldman in the original film and gave his version of the character the same disease.
"Watching ‘One Last Kiss’ is a great way to spend your Halloween weekend, and I hope MissaX’s members enjoy it," the director added.
