Adult Cryptocurrency CumRocket Gains Traction After Cryptic Elon Musk Tweet

LOS ANGELES — The price of CumRocket, a cryptocurrency project aiming to corner the market for non-fiat-based adult transactions, shot up after celebrity entrepreneur and investor Elon Musk cryptically appeared to endorse it via tweet.

The price fluctuation made national news, with several national and international publications and media observers attempting to come to terms with the coin coyly referenced as “C*mRocket.”

Musk first tweeted “Canada USA Mexico” last Thursday evening; crypto observers quickly deduced the message could form the acronym "CUM," which they took to refer to the adult-industry-marketed coin that Musk had jokingly referred to in past media appearances.

This later prompted a tweet by the account for crypto insider Mr. Whale pointing out that “CumRocket coin has surged over 85% after Elon Musk's tweet. We are for sure living in a simulation.”

Musk then replied, “Great thread [laugh-crying emoji].”

Prominent news outlets such as Newsweek then took note of CumRocket — an ambitious project that has already been advertised in the adult space through talent partnerships with veteran performers such as Brittany Andrews and Lauren Phillips — and attempted to explain it for a general audience.

“C*mRocket is a cryptocurrency project launched in April 2021 that aims to provide an NFT marketplace for adult content and a platform where creators are paid in crypto and tipped using special tokens called C*MMIES,” Newsweek’s Aristos Georgiou wrote on Friday.

"Cummies” is also a Gen-Z slang term for orgasms and semen.

The CUMMIES Are Coming

The CumRocket NFT marketplace, the newsmagazine added, “allows people to buy, sell, swap and collect exclusive adult content,” specifying the content in question as “full-length pornographic clips with up to 30 minutes of video, sound, as well as GIFs or pictures.”

The material is stored in the user's digital wallet, and on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) blockchain network, the article continued.

Quoting from the CumRocket whitepaper, Newsweek further explained that the project is "different from other marketplaces because people will be able to post full pornographic videos and buy them, send them, sell them, collect them. They can do this without ever having the file stored on their computer, meaning they can keep their porn private. Paying for adult content in crypto provides both buyers and creators with anonymity, something that other popular platforms fail to provide."

"Our future plans include exploring other ways creators can earn a living through adult content, such as having live cams. The possibilities are endless and although people have tried, nobody has done this on Binance Smart Chain," the whitepaper continued.

Newsweek also explained that CumRocket will also provide a private content subscription platform, besides the NFT market, and a service where users can chat, text and exchange content, while tipping with CUMMIES.

As of last week a CUMMIES token was valued at the $0.07 mark, with more than 1.3 billion in circulation.

“The market cap of the cryptocurrency is currently around $107 million, according to CoinMarketCap,” Newsweek noted.

“Cummies are definitely giving Dogecoin a run for their money,” Lauren Phillips noted last month when announcing her partnership. “It’s great that the adult industry has a crypto that’s tied to a subscription-based platform. No one has done anything quite like this. I’m excited to be on the ground floor of such a revolutionary idea.”
