POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — Swiss Navy has announced they are sponsoring Pride celebratory events around the globe throughout the month.
“Pride month is a celebration of visibility and takes place each June as a tribute to those who were involved in the Stonewall Uprising of 1969,” a rep explained. “Stonewall became a symbol of resistance to discrimination and has inspired solidarity amongst the LGBTQIA+ community for decades.”r
Ellen Friedman, regional director of sales and marketing for M.D. Science, manufacturers of the Swiss Navy brand, said the company is “excited to be able to show our support to events celebrating Pride month.”
“Being able to be a part of so many celebrations year after year is incredibly rewarding for our entire team,” Friedman added. “And I personally want to thank y’all for helping make Swiss Navy the most-loved lube in the world.”
The company stressed that Pride should serve as a reminder to everyone to embrace who they are and celebrate personal self-worth and dignity.
“There are several ways to show your support,” the rep said. "'Respect the Rainbow.' Each of the rainbow flag’s eight colors have a meaning: pink for sex, red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sun, green for nature, turquoise for magic, blue for peace and purple for spirit — find the colors that speak to you and proudly wear them throughout June. Join a Pride parade in celebration of inclusivity. And embrace education about the LGBTQIA+ community and what you can do to help.”
"Remember what Pride is about," continued the rep. "Be kinder to the members of your own community, and be on the lookout for Swiss Navy at Pride celebrations worldwide.”
M.D. Science Lab VP of Sales and Marketing Briana Watkins said, “Swiss Navy has always been supportive of the LGBTQIA+ community and employs many facets of the LGBTQ alphabet with gay, lesbian and trans people in our Swiss Navy family,” said. “We are proud to be allies by supporting LGBTQQIA+ people and their rights and through sponsoring events throughout the year.”
