LOS ANGELES — Mary Moody was featured yesterday in an article by Vice in her role as a founding board member of performers’ group Adult Industry Laborers & Artists Association (AILAA).
The article, “The Crusade Against Pornhub Is Going to Get Someone Killed,” was written by Samantha Cole for Vice’s Motherboard vertical.
“Mary has been on a mission to help sex workers,” said a rep. “Now that Vice is looking into the dangers of the Pornhub crusade and hate speech, and the potential for vigilante attacks on Pornhub employees, sex workers and others, Mary Moody was asked to weigh in on the topic.”
Moody spoke to Cole about anti-porn groups Exodus Cry and the National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE, formerly Morality in Media) making sex workers fear for their lives, as well as about these groups revealing sex workers’ identities and locations.
“I think a lot of people have no idea how bad this crusade has become — it’s always my goal to protect sex workers, as well as their incomes,” said Moody. “This article is a hard look at the harsh reality sex workers, and Pornhub employees face and fear.”
“I’m glad Samantha Cole wrote this piece to educate the public at large about these dangers, which seem to be getting progressively worse,” Moody added.
