LOS ANGELES — The Bob Mizer Foundation's Physique Pictorial magazine is in the closing hours of a Kickstarter campaign to fund publication for the coming year. The classic beefcake magazine was revived four years ago with a mix of vintage and current content after laying dormant for nearly three decades following Mizer's death.
"The relaunched version is clean and modern; it’s bigger, meatier, more colorful, and an homage to Mizer’s classic works interspersed with the best in images from emerging artists," notes the campaign pitch. "The response from you, our supporters and readers, has been tremendous."
An initial goal of $12,000 was met and the fundraising goal extended to help meet expenses for the full year.
"As publishing costs continue to rise, we remain dedicated to bringing you a quarterly of which Mizer would have been proud. But in order to do that — and to insure we keep subscription and individual-volume costs steady and affordable — we need your help," continues the campaign pitch. "A donation to help fund the continued success of Physique Pictorial will insure that Bob Mizer’s message continues to be delivered and heard, in the medium that gave him the most popularity and acclaim, and in the way he always meant it to be."
Backer rewards include the choice of one free month of OnlyFans membership donated by three different performers; find the Kickstarter page here and follow BobMizer.org.
Earlier this year, the Tom of Finland store announced its Beverly Hills Cowboy x Bob Mizer collab featuring the pioneering erotic photographer's work across a range of apparel and other items.
