Jacquie & Michel Group Releases New 'Code of Ethics' for Producers

PARIS — European adult entertainment group Ares — which includes leading French brands Jacquie & Michel and Jacquie & Michel Elite — released today a Code of Ethics for producers distributing content through its studios.

The code, a rep explained “will allow French producers to formally guarantee that they have rigorously taken every step needed to ensure the full consent and safety of every participant, during the production of every work intended for its platforms.”

Ares also provided details on how they intend to strictly apply the Code, including regular phone interviews with random performers to inquire about set conditions.

The document, the rep continued, “is the result of a reflection which started in September 2020 and involved producers, directors, technicians, actors and actresses under a legal board’s supervision.”

Ares said they decided “to propose a quick and firm answer and reaffirm its will to prohibit reprehensible behaviors in adult content production.”

The group offered their Code of Ethics as an open template for other companies that might wish to develop their own version.

Ares also explicitly connected their development of the Code of Ethics to an internal investigation on third-party producers the company initiated in September.

The following month, as XBIZ reported, Paris authorities initiated an investigation of local "amateur content" producer Pascal OP, accusing him and associates of “rape and aggravated pandering” during their shoots.

News of the arrests, which have not yet resulted in a trial, was quickly deployed by French War on Porn crusaders and politicians to try to influence public opinion against the local adult industry.

Max Hadix, another French industry figure arrested in October, was described by the press as a producer and content broker between “amateur” producers and major European sites.
