Sx Tech 2020 Berlin Conference Postponed; Organizers Pivot to 'Lockdown Talks'

BERLIN — Following recent pandemic lockdown measures in the European Union, organizers of Sx Tech 2020 have postponed their in-person conference and pivoted to the virtual "Sx Tech Lockdown Talks" set for November 27.

"The 'Sx Tech Lockdown Talks' is a virtual 'teaser event' of the Sx Tech conference — an annual event dedicated to the intersections between sex and technology," a rep explained. The daylong session will feature "three virtual rooms, six panels, Q&A sessions with the speakers, games, workshops and a massive giveaway of sexual wellness products."

The event will open with "the first AI sex robot, Harmony, and remarks from Sx Tech Founder Ola Miedzynska," said the rep, "followed by a surprise showcase from our partner, Satisfyer, and a mix of panel discussions."

The seminars include:

  • New Weapons: Intimate Data & Sextech Changing Health Systems (featuring Madison Campbell of Leda Health and Georgia di Mattos of iPlaySafe App)
  • Sex Advocacy in Bed with Social Media Marketing — New Frontiers in 2021 (featuring Nenna Joiner of Feelmore Adult, Heather Montgomery of PleazeMe and Anna Richards of FrolicMe; moderated by Calandra Balfour)
  • Platforms that Empower Choice — Challenges for Offline and Online Communities (featuring Genevieve LeJeune of Skirt Club and Paulita Pappel of Lustery; moderated by Calandra Balfour)
  • Sexual wellness + CBD = Break the Taboo with Sx Tech 2020 (featuring Raven Faber of EngErotics and Buck Angel, trans activist and entrepreneur; moderated by Caroline Barry of Cannavist Mag)
  • Visual Marketing Content Communication for the Sex Toys Sector (featuring Lucija Mla?ak of LELO and Martin Cirillo-Schmidt of IOBA Toys)

Additional discussions will explore "sexual wellness in the time of COVID," noted the rep, and will include "immersive sessions exploring AI robots [as] sex therapists."

Those panels include:

  • Helen Hagemeier (couples and sex therapist) and Mariah Freya (co-founder at Beducated) hosting a virtual workshop exploring how to overcome the coronavirus crisis in intimate and sexual relationships with the help of sex technology
  • A unique live game session with AI robot Kokeshi.ai, Helen Hagemeier and innovational technology sexual wellness product creators Magic Motion that explores remote sex gadgets that offer a little help to make the lockdown easier
  • A panel in which Harmony AI and Kokeshi.ai robots will be invited to reflect on whether humans need to connect with other humans

"Sx Tech Lockdown Talks" will also host an online game room and "Vulva Bingo," described as "a playful artistic session that aims to question existing taboos in the discourse of sexuality."

The daylong event will wrap up with "a massive giveaway of sexual wellness products from Satisfyer, Beducated, Iplaysafe App, Kokeshi AI and Ioba Toys, LELO and Lustery, among others," noted the rep. "The winners will be chosen based on a quiz game that will take place throughout the day."

Donations will be accepted; each attendee will receive a monthlong free subscription to Berlinable.com, a Berlin-based platform that publishes short erotica stories by independent authors.
