LOS ANGELES — Colin Rowntree will appear as a special guest of "Sex Tech Connect" on Sunday, a teleconferencing event series organized by the recently formed networking group for the sex tech and adult retail industries, and professionals involved with sexuality research, journalism and the arts.
The group meets Sunday at 1 p.m. (PDT) for "Virtual Brunch, Happy Hour or Late Night Drink." Recent guests have included Lora Haddock DiCarlo and Buck Angel.
Rowntree is the CEO of Wasteland.com, which he founded in 1994 and built into "one of the most sought-after BDSM, fetish and alternative sexuality websites in existence," a rep said. "Priding itself on the quality of its authentic BDSM movies, Wasteland has produced over 1,300 original films featuring lifestyles of kinky folks performing a vast array of bondage, fetish and sex acts that appeal to bondage aficionados around the world."
Adult industry attorney Maxine Lynn founded "Sex Tech Connect."
"We are very excited to host Colin," she said. "The landscape of the pornography industry has changed so much over the last three decades — even just in the last three months. Colin was there through it all. He will have such a wealth of knowledge to share."
During Sunday's event, attendees will have the opportunity to speak directly with Rowntree and network with industry peers.
"I have been in the adult industry as a producer, web distributor, director and wearing many other hats since 1995 and have been through the countless waves of new tech innovation that has and continues to drive adult entertainment at all levels," said Rowntree. "I'm absolutely delighted to be on 'Sex Tech Connect' and look forward to not only giving my viewpoints, but a lively conversation about the current state of affairs of technology as the driving force in adult entertainment."
