LOS ANGELES — Cherie DeVille spoke with the Daily Beast for a recent feature titled "The Fake Porn Stars Scamming Lonely Guys Out of Big Money During the Pandemic."
“Cherie is no stranger to 'fake' accounts using her image to scam her fans,” explained a rep. “As a sex worker, it's a common occurrence. But, with the current pandemic, there's been an uptick in 'eWhoring', the practice of scammers pretending to be a well-known star.”
In the article, DeVille described not only her frustration with fake accounts but also her anger when unscrupulous individuals use her name to hurt her fans. DeVille describes just how much this hurts her and her fans, and that even with enlisting services to help weed out accounts, it still remains a problem.
“I just personally find those people so fucking disgusting,” DeVille told the news site. “It’s so upsetting.”
