BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Self-billed "hardcore Barbie" Sara St. Clair has penned an article for HotMovies.com that discusses the impact of sex work on her personal relationships.
The story also includes the perspective of performers Riley Kay, Aria Khaide, Sydney Leathers, Roxie Rae and Linzee Ryder.
"Sara tackles the stigma of sex work and its effect on both family and romantic relationships, relating her own experience of 'coming out' as a porn performer to a significant other, and how a relationship with a performer is built with boundaries and trust," a rep explained.
"Her friends talk of their experiences, both good and bad, when the subject of romance comes up. Sara also helps break the myth of all performers come from bad homes, as she shows how supportive families do exist," continued the rep. "And for those who may not have relationships with their families, such as Sara herself, the bond of sex work creates a family among performers."
St. Clair expressed gratitude for the chance to talk about another side of her life.
"I wanted to use this opportunity to share with fans some very personal experiences that myself and fellow performers have off camera," she said. "I think it's important for not only fans, but society as a whole, to see how sex workers deal with the same issues that people outside the industry face — especially when it comes to relationships. I want to thank Sydney, Aria, Linzee, Roxie and Riley for sharing this part of their lives with me and the readers."
