LOS ANGELES — Maitland Ward guests on the “Hollywood Raw” podcast, co-hosted by Dax Holt and Adam Glyn, where she discussed how a "May the 4th" cosplay changed the direction of her career.
The former “Boy Meets World” actress-turned-adult-performer discussed her transition into the adult industry, as well as her Disney star past.
“Maitland stopped by to reminisce about how she landed her role on 'Boy Meets World,” and she admitted the residuals are still rolling in,” said co-host Glyn. “She filled us in about how cosplay rocked launched her career and joked about how her OnlyFans page is helping people stay home during the pandemic. We got onto the topic of Kim Kardashian's sex tape, Farrah Abraham, what projects Maitland is working on now, and how her former castmates view her career change.”
During her appearance, Ward described her first steps into the adult industry. “There was never a plan,” she told Holt and Gly. “It was just me taking a personal authentic journey. I was definitely an exhibitionist at heart — all my followers knew that. I like body paint and cosplay setups and sexy costumes. I always wanted to have fun with those kinds of stuff. I never thought a cosplay side career was anything that was possible.”
“When I started it was just something I did for fun,” Ward continued. “One time a red carpet photographer came up to me and said ‘you know, ‘May the 4th’ is coming up, you should do slave Leia’ — then that went everywhere! I was shocked, that went all over the press all over the world. That exhibitionist in me started to evolve.”
Ward explained that after she got kicked off Snapchat and other free platforms for her risqué content, her fans suggested she sell content.
“I didn’t know if anyone would be interested in buying it!” Ward revealed. “So I signed up for a Patreon page and was like, well, we’ll see. 25 people signed up overnight without me even mentioning it. I mentioned it and 2,800 signed up by the end of the week.”
