VALENCIA, Calif. — Girlfriends Films (GFF) is working on plans to resume production this summer, following a temporary moratorium on filming their original content.
The studio was among the first to halt production last March due to the COVID-19 public health crisis.
"We are working closely with industry leaders to resume production while considering the health and well-being of our directors, crew and our pool of talent," said Moose, GFF president. "When we first made the decision to hold production for 30 days, we had no idea what to expect and we are now focused on a safe return to work for everyone.”
A studio rep also stated that a handful of new titles produced prior to the filming halt that have yet to be printed on DVD.
“Those films will be officially released once DVD production is back up and running,” the rep added.
Meanwhile, the studio has continued adding titles to their membership website “according to schedule.”
“During the entire month of May, GFF will be promoting many of their long-running series on social media, many of which can be viewed in entirety on-demand,” the rep continued. “There is also a new line of GFF merch, which includes box cover puzzles and other various items sporting the pink GFF logo.”
Moose added that the company is “incredibly proud of how everyone has dealt with the current situation, with thoughtful patience and consideration. Until we get back to the set, we encourage everyone to please continue following guidelines and protocols, and be safe out there. We are super-stoked about some exciting new projects GFF will be announcing soon, and we can’t wait to see everyone again when it’s time.”
GFF is planning to resume production within a few weeks.
