LOS ANGELES — Emma Hix has been named the May 2020 Pet of the Month (POTM) by Penthouse Magazine.
"The natural blonde stunner can now add Penthouse Pet to a long-list of accolades rewarding her reputation as one of the adult entertainment industry’s hardest working talents," said a rep.
Hix said that when she got the call from Penthouse to shoot, which made her hopeful for being selected Pet of the Month, she felt ecstatic.
“I remember hearing the news the shoot was for POTM, and it made my eyes fill up with tears of joy," said Hix. "Not only was I excited, but I was extremely nervous leading up to the shoot date. But as soon as I got on set with the crew, all my nerves vanished.”
For the Canadian model, receiving the iconic key that welcomes her into the exclusive club of Penthouse Pets, is "a dream come true."
“Being a Penthouse Pet has been my goal from Day One of entering the adult industry,” she confided. “It’s been a major goal.”
Hix believes that the Penthouse brand is special to her because the company is known worldwide for choosing the most naturally beautiful women.
“They are an icon and I am so grateful and proud to join a long line of Pet sisters," she said.
Penthouse Pets have been an integral part of the Key Brand since its founding by legendary photographer and erotica publisher Bob Guccione. The brand’s signature aesthetics of “natural beauties, amazingly photographed” continue being upheld by brand manager and “Pet wrangler” Sam Phillips, who is a storied Penthouse Pet herself.
"Since the late 1960s, Penthouse has been an iconic men’s lifestyle magazine and brand, internationally renowned for its elite atmosphere and superior photography," said a company representative. "Pet of the Month is considered by most adult models an incredible accomplishment that only a few selected beauties have attained."
Hix also enthused over the photo shoot with Penthouse veteran Tammy Sands.
"Tammy knows all the ways to make a model feel great and feel beautiful through the demanding process of trying to look amazing on camera — never a simple job!" the brand new Pet of the Month explained. "She was very flexible with me, and explained to me what she was doing along the way. She even let me involve a few of my ideas into the shoot, which a lot of photographers don’t usually do. It was a very zen, very hippy kind of thing, and of course I loved it!”
The shoot was completed in early March, right before COVID-19 precautions forced everyone inside. This week, Penthouse managed to give Emma her Penthouse Pet key necklace in a quarantine-compliant ceremony.
“Being named Penthouse Pet of the Month, to me, it’s my biggest career achievement to date,” a visibly moved Emma concluded. “If one looks up the true definition of Penthouse, it means being at the top, as high as you can go.”
