LOS ANGELES — Svakom is marking Earth Day by donating 20% of sales through Sunday to environmental organization Trees for the Future.
"This year we wanted to get a little bit extra-involved in this day; using eco-friendly materials and making sure that we recycle everything in the office was not going to cut it this time," a Svakom rep explained.
"That's why, after searching for the perfect foundation to join forces with, we decided to approach Trees for the Future, a magnificent organization that has been changing lives for the past 30 years and we cannot thank them enough for supporting our planet with their incredible work. That's why we decided to donate," the rep continued, "so they can keep doing what they do best."
Trees for the Future works to create a sustainable future for communities in need by teaching farmers, over four years, how to work, grow and take care of the land.
The group's three core goals include ending deforestation, in order to reverse environmental degradation, improve soil quality and reduce greenhouse gases; ending hunger, by allowing farmers and their families to responsibly work their own land and feed their families and local communities; and ending poverty by educating people on how to maximize their resources and create permanent employment through working their own land, ensuring a future for the next generation.
A Svakom rep notes Trees for the Future has planted over 187,000,000 trees, restored over 28,000 acres and "changed more than 111,000 lives. Let's help them turn our world into an even better place."
