NEW YORK — Janet Lieberman-Lu, co-founder of the progressive pleasure brand Dame Products, has announced that she is stepping down from her role.
Lieberman-Lu made the announcement on Twitter from a new non-Dame Products-related handle.
“After almost six years, I’ve decided to step down from my day-to-day role at Dame Products, although I will continue to be on the board. Today is my last day. Wish me luck for whatever comes next!”

In 2015, Lieberman-Lu and Alexandra Fine made history when Dame Products’ flagship product, Eva, became the most highly crowd-funded adult product. The twentysomething-year-old Brooklyn-based duo surpassed their “stretch” goal of $200,000 by 375 percent on Indiegogo and became the crowd-funding site’s most successful campaign ever run by an all-female team.
Lieberman graduated from MIT in 2007 with a BS in mechanical engineering and honed her skills at various companies, including MakerBot — where she was the lead engineer of its Replicator Mini Compact Desktop 3D Printer, as well as 3D printing company Z Corporation, Quirky and MindsInSync.
Alexandra Fine, CEO and cofounder of Dame Products, told XBIZ that she credits Lieberman-Lu's "brilliance, competency and passion" with making the brand what it is.
While I'm sad this chapter is coming to a close, the whole team and I know Janet's work will live on in our product development team's commitment to efficiency and ingenuity," Fine said. "She has my full support, and I’m excited to see what this next chapter holds for both of us."
