ManyVids Offers Quarantine Tips for Stay-At-Home Fun

MONTREAL — ManyVids has released a set of tips for coping with the challenges and isolation of being quarantined during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

While social distancing and stay-at-home directives remain in effect during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the company, it’s essential to make the best of the situation — for good mental health and to keep growing and learning as a person — by finding ways to keep busy, learn new skills and have fun during this time.

“To this end, the MV Team has put together a list of things to do to make sure you’re thriving, getting stuff done and enjoying this time of being housebound as much as you can,” said a company rep, who notes that these tips will be part of an ongoing conversation on the MV Blog.

The initial round of tips from ManyVids follows:

Working Out
Reach your fitness goals, avoid cabin fever, and get into optimal shape by starting a new daily at-home fitness routine. There are many resources, from personal instruction via live cam to online workout regimes, for you to discover the perfect workout.

Take a Free University-Level Course
Many top universities have teamed up to offer free online courses. Now you can learn anything from a new language to the history of ancient Rome to how to code — no matter what your interest, there’s a course for you.

Yoga and Meditation
Discover the real you while relaxing and getting rid of any COVID-19 induced stress through meditation and yoga. A simple web search will get you instructional videos at no charge, including from MV Stars: two choices include "My Hobby — Self Love and Meditation" and "Guided Yoga Practice: Legs and Hips."

Clean and Organize Your Home
Come on, admit it — you’ve been planning on getting your house spotlessly clean and perfectly organized, but you’ve been too busy, and there’s never the right time and if only you have a few days to properly tackle it. Well, that time is now! Get your home in tip-top condition: it’ll pass the hours while creating the right environment to pursue all the other projects on this list.

Catch Up on Self-Care
This is something we all need to do to stay grounded and feeling good while this situation is going on. Prioritize self-care — do face masks, take long bubble baths with a glass of wine, give yourself a manicure, color your hair — you deserve it, so make this is your opportunity to pamper yourself.

Learn How to Play Music
Making music is shockingly easy once you pick up a few skills and get a little practice in, so don’t be intimidated. Hit up an online retailer and buy the instrument you’ve always wanted — and if you’re on a tight budget, get a ukulele or a harmonica — and take some online lessons. Plus, you don’t even need an instrument, as there’s plenty of music-making apps available for computers, smartphones and tablets.

Take in Some High Culture
Take a virtual tour of a museum, see a symphony play live via streaming, watch a recorded play, or engage in another way to consume some of the greatest art humanity has ever created. With public spaces closed, the purveyors of high culture are all on the net and sharing their treasures, so now’s your chance to experience a masterpiece.
