NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — A personal finance workshop primarily designed for sex workers and adult performers will be held this Friday at 6 p.m., at The Federal bar in North Hollywood.
The event is promoted as "a personal finance workshop for adult industry folks and friends."
The main speaker will be Ramona Ortega, Esq., Founder and CEO of My Money My Future, a personal finance platform designed, according to a rep, "to help women manage their money with confidence."
Lindsay Goldwert, author of "Bow Down: Lessons from Dominatrixes on How to Get Everything You Want" will moderate a discussion around saving, investing, retirement, taxes and more.
"The workshop is designed to be super-casual, informative and supportive," Goldwert told XBIZ.
"The most important thing when talking about money is being part of a community where people understand your challenges," Goldwert added, "and we really want to provide a room, a safe space, where people can feel comfortable talking about the issues that affect them day-to-day."
Goldwert is a financial journalist, financial advice specialist and former editorial director of the personal finance app Stash. She also created the podcasts "Teach Me How to Money" and "SPENT."
The format will be an hour-long discussion starting at 6 p.m. with a question-and-answer session to follow. Attendees are encouraged to stay after the workshop for more informal conversation around the topics discussed.
Admission to the personal finance workshop is $10, and it includes a drink.
