LOS ANGELES — Performer Gabbie Carter was tapped to star in a new music video alongside recording artist Josh Lambert.
Set to be released on Friday, "Saturday Girl" sees Carter cast as a party-type with devious undertones in the neo-noir style video.
The new single marks Lamberts first self-produced track. Drawing inspiration from both James Bond and his native Bay Area, Lambert elaborated on Carter's role, positioning "Saturday Girl" as a piece that "explores and exploits the materialistic girl who seems to care more about her belongings and money than anything else.”
Vents Magazine calls "Saturday Girl" as a "trap-influenced track" with "witty lyrics that double as both commentary and critique."
"Supported by a thumping bass line and guitar, 'Saturday Girl' traverses the terrain of mainstream hip-hop with an alternative edge," the review reads.
Lambert describes his work as being "unbound by the chains of genre," instead pulling inspiration from "all aspects of art and entertainment," including the likes of Salvador Dali and XXXtentacion, to name a few.
The single is now available to stream and download on digital music platforms worldwide.
