LOS ANGELES — Sex educator and Wicked Pictures producer, director and star Jessica Drake will share her experience and insights with attendees as a panelist on the “APAC Presents: Consent, Ethics and Liability in a Post #MeToo World” workshop.
The session, hosted by the Adult Performer Advocacy Committee (APAC), will be held during the XBIZ Show in West Hollywood on Thursday, January 16, at 2 p.m. in Studio 1, on the second floor of the Andaz Hotel.
Fresh from a speaking tour that took her to cities across the country, Drake has been a tireless advocate for sex workers and sex education as part of an effort to de-stigmatize sex work and sexual practices that marginalize many segments of society.
As a panelist, she will join colleagues from different segments of the industry, including Fivestar (Kink.com), Bree Mills (Adult Time), Jacky St. James (Mile High Media), Casey Calvert (Lust Cinema) and Tim Woodman (APAC), to discuss how directors and producers can cultivate and implement ethical consent negotiations on set and bring a greater understanding of related issues impacting adult performers.
“I am looking forward to discussing the importance and intersection of consent and ethics with other producers,” Drake said. “With so much attention given to the #MeToo movement in the beginning, issues like consent and ethics have come to the forefront, but remain a work in progress. It’s my hope we continue to create awareness which results in safe working conditions for all performers and sex workers, on all sets, regardless of the content.”
The event is part of XBIZ 2020, which runs through Friday. The conference is an annual gathering of the adult industry’s top personalities and brands and features seminars, workshops and product launches.
