LOS ANGELES — GameWithMe is officially launching Thursday with a new design for the live platform that allows streamers and members to dictate the content of the broadcast.
“With the astronomical growth of e-sports, and video game broadcasting being the fastest-growing segment in entertainment, the need has arisen for a company that will allow gamers to stream in the manner that they want,” said a company rep. “In an era of demonetizing and de-platforming streamers for saying or doing anything deemed controversial, a new player is entering the market, poised to allow streamers to do shows the way they like.”
GameWithMe offers gamers a platform free from concerns about an abrupt removal from the platform or from being demonetized. The platform strives to be "the most performance-centric site in e-sports," offering payouts of up to 70 percent for all streamers.
“Our competitors marginalize broadcasters on their platforms, and only pay the top 5 percent like the stars they are,” CEO Steve Hamilton revealed. “We want GameWithMe to be the home of excellent gaming content and paid shows where the performer dictates the content.”
Hamilton, whose background includes online broadcasting and gaming, had an account on a competitor's site removed when his broadcasting partner's shirt was deemed inappropriate for displaying an apparently excessive amount of cleavage.
GameWithMe will launch at midnight (PST) with prizes for streamers and members. All streamers will need to submit identification to be pre-approved. "New streamers are encouraged to sign up early," said the rep.
