LUXEMBOURG — Pjur is touting several global initiatives they've undertaken in 2019 to support sustainability worldwide.
In Laos, pjur has donated to the Healthy Mothers project (Müttergesundheit), an initiative from the aid organization CARE dedicated to tackling the problem of infant mortality. Through improved healthcare, supporting the training of midwives and helping new mothers with family and financial planning, the program is reducing malnutrition and empowering mothers in the country's south.
Pjur also donates to several German NGOs, donating goods from overproduction to healthcare centers, AIDS counseling centers and similar groups.
Finally, pjur was awarded the Green Dot (Grüner Punkt) environmental certificate for 2018. Through the recycling of packaging materials the company saved 4,143 kg (9,134 lbs) of carbon dioxide equivalent. They also pay for carbon offsets for all of their printing projects.
"We are proud that our activities help to make the world a little better," said CEO Alexander Giebel. "We wish all our partners and customers a festive holiday season with their loved ones and a Happy New Year."
