LOS ANGELES — The Adult Performers Actors Guild (APAG) has announced its 2nd annual Helping the Homeless Holiday Drive.
"The concept of the drive began last year, with APAG President Alana Evans dedicating her Amazon wish list to items for those in need and delivering them to outreach services," said a union rep.
"Last year, our friends with CAMS, Elevated X and YNOT Cams, along with numerous donors, helped us deliver items to those in need consisting of tents, sleeping bags, clothing, food, toiletries and more. The items were given to the Alpha Project of San Diego, an outreach organization that drives to areas where the homeless congregate to offer services and supplies necessary for survival on the streets."
This year, all donated items will be donated to a shelter "located in the heart of the homeless community of downtown Los Angeles."
The facility is "a continuous emergency shelter," the rep said, that assists single men, single women, single mothers with children, single fathers with children, two-parent families and families with teenagers who are unhoused.
Besides the Helping the Homeless Holiday Drive, APAG intends to offer grocery store gift cards to performers, based on donations. "As we look for ways we can help our community during the holidays, we know all too well that many within our performer community are struggling to make ends meet," said the rep.
