HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Comedian and free speech activist Kathy Griffin has been tapped to host the Str8UpGayPorn Awards in January. She will also deliver a keynote address at the inaugural Str8UpGay Summit.
Griffin’s keynote, set for January 11, 2020, will focus on “the importance of free speech battles waged by the industry, the 50th anniversary of the legalization of porn and her own 1st Amendment battles,” a rep said.
The following night, January 12, Griffin will step into the shoes of fellow comics Sandra Bernhard and Bianca Del Rio as the host of the 3rd annual Str8UpGayPorn Awards, presented by ManyVids.
“I’ve had the honor of performing for many kinds of audiences,” said Griffin. “I’ve been to the top, the bottom, the versatile, and baby, now I’m back! This is going to be a hell of a weekend. From giving the keynote speech on Saturday, to participating as the awards host on Sunday, I’m thrilled to head — I mean, 'stand erect,' oh, let’s go with ‘pull a comedy train’ — in a packed, and I mean ‘packed,’ room full of hot, gay male porn stars and the men who fluff them. What could be more fun? I can’t wait!”
The Str8UpGay Summit unspools January 9-11 at the W Hotel Hollywood, culminating in the awards ceremony, January 12, at the Avalon Hollywood nightclub.
