LOS ANGELES — Dana Vespoli has received a nod for Director of the Year from the 2019 Fleshbot Awards, as well as for Best G/G Scene.
The Director of the Year nomination recognizes Vespoli’s body of work throughout the year, including her return to Evil Angel, helming and co-starring in the religious-themed “Ministry of Evil” with Riley Steele and Julia Ann, and the acclaimed semi-documentary exploration of sexual freedom and responsibility, “Consent” featuring Emily Willis and Ivy LeBelle.
For her part, Vespoli commented, “I went from shooting roughly 34 movies a year to shooting around six movies in 2019. That’s a huge change. What was nice about it was being able to really put time and energy into just a few projects, rather than deal with the anxiety of pre-production during production of the movie I was currently working on."
“All that said, I am most proud of ’Consent,'" she continued. "It was a timely movie, a very personal and meaningful one, and a wonderful opportunity to collaborate with John Stagliano, who is a hero of mine and my raison d’être in this business, so to speak.”
Of her Best G/G Scene nomination, for her performance with Victoria Voxxx in the self-directed “Lesbian Stepmother 5,” Vespoli said, “I am very happy to be nominated with Victoria for our scene, because I think she is enormously talented and beautiful. I really want to see her blow up in the industry, because she has it all: incredible performer, talented actress and musician, smart and gorgeous.”
“I want to thank Fleshbot for all of their support over the years,” Vespoli said. “It has meant a lot.”
Voting for the annual Fleshbot Awards is currently open through November 29.
