LOS ANGELES — When you receive an invitation to witness reigning XBIZ Best New Starlet Karma Rx’s epic showcase, “Bad Karma,” on a day she’s performing with 2017 XBIZ Female Performer of the Year Katrina Jade, it’s tough to turn down such a rare opportunity. After all, these are two of the most badass, gorgeously tatted, super-fuckers in the biz.
And any lens lucky enough to capture their untamed wildness on camera, any studio wise enough to tap into such a highly engaged fan base, is hedging their bets shrewdly. Not to mention, this title is ripe for the plucking with Rx’s first DP, first DAP, first IR DP and first TS scene! So it was, that after chatting it up with Mark Schechter of ATMLA, agent extraordinaire of Rx (and a very persuasive man to boot), XBIZ drove down to a fancy mansion known for its fair share of porn shoots.
High ceilings, lovely stonework, big ol’ light-splashing windows, an aquamarine pool surrounded by emerald grass and California palms, as well as a myriad of swank spaces, housed the two stars on tap that day, alongside the leanly-muscled crew primarily comprised of director Chris Streams and his right-hand production manager Tony Flush.
The highly in-demand Streams, a top gun shooter ready to rock for anyone seeking a legit lensman (in this case, his main bae Evil Angel, for whom he planned and executed “Bad Karma”), was sitting down in the carpeted command center/makeup room, fussing with his sophisticated camera gear. Nearby, Jade was getting dolled up as Rx tried on different outfits, and just standing near the inked babes, it was instantly clear this was going to be a match made in hell (in the most heavenly way imaginable).
When asked what other scenes he had already shot for the showcase, as this girl/girl encounter was towards the tail-end of the project, Streams imparted, “The first thing we did, was we had Karma Rx dressed up like a cowgirl for a scene in a barn. It was her first DP, and we did double vadge, double anal and went hard with Mick Blue and Markus Dupree. They know what they’re doing when it comes to those particular sex acts — and many others, of course.”
Bringing it back to the present, he explained the coming attraction for this day would involve the strap-on he was hefting in his hand that very moment, after picking it up from the floor. “Today, we’re doing a girl/girl strap-on. I got this fancy cock here and this harness, so that way it’s not the normal dangly, flippy things,” he remarked, displaying just how superior this particular synthetic dick was compared to cheaper ones. With Jade slated as the fucker who would be giving it to fucked Rx, Streams mused, “Hopefully, she’s gonna bring the pain.” Judging by the final results, she most certainly did bring that pleasurable degree of nasty.
Reminiscing about his first experience with the Best New Starlet (whose inspiring and incredible story can be explored in the exclusive XBIZ interview here), Streams recalled, “From the first time I shot Karma, I was running camera for … I believe … an Axel Braun movie, and obviously — looking at her — you’re like ‘Wow!’ And she performs great.”
He chuckled then, remembering how he had to fight for her when the showcase project first came up, after wading through the usual spitball suspects, whose market saturation was often a case of monkey-see/monkey-do tunnel vision, rather than the kind of tangible traffic-based strength Rx so clearly provides — it should be noted, she has broken the insanely competitive top 10 rankings on global powerhouse Pornhub numerous times, and remains firmly in the top 50.
“When casting the star of this showcase, all the normal names of every girl you can think of, who everybody’s like ‘if we can get her for a scene or a first DP’ were mentioned, where there would be the usual bidding wars,” he recalled, a mischievous twinkle in his eyes. “And they kept asking me, who, who? And I kept saying, her, her! Karma Rx!”
This cut-through-the-bullshit taste in stars that Streams so clearly possesses, proved instrumental in securing Rx as the much-deserved subject matter for the movie — a vital trait in today’s more-unforgiving-than-ever landscape. Betting on the wrong horse or valuing the fluff over the fire repeatedly, is a recipe for disaster in the rapidly shrinking circle of bona fide influencers and power brokers. Digital media is a merciless mistress, scything legacy-grounded hype in favor of starlit, algorithm-exploding moneymakers.
Streams also displayed his shrewd judgment when it came to casting Jade that day, as he mentioned, “When they suggested I get a bunch of girls for the girl/girl scene I said, 'To be honest, I’d rather just see Katrina.'”
Another stellar decision was enlisting Natalie Mars for Rx’s first-ever trans pairing captured on camera, a historic feat shot days prior. Describing the setup, Streams said, “We were in a strip bar and Karma comes in pissed off. She broke up with her boyfriend and wants to see some girls dance. So she’s throwing money and then Natalie turns her on in this dress, pulling it off. And Karma’s like, ‘You’re the perfect woman!’”
As for the other scene, which was Rx’s first IR DP, Streams chose Prince Yahshua and Jax Slayher as the piston-fuckers. “We did that downtown,” Streams revealed. “We were walking around through the tunnels and the alleyways and this bridge, all that dirty stuff, before shooting it at night in an alley … and it came out really, really nice.”
Speaking of dark vs. light and grime vs. prime, Streams said that no matter the shoot, he stays versatile aesthetically. “I don’t have a particular style,” he noted, shrugging. “Even when I owned my stuff at Jules Jordan or Zero Tolerance, different movies had different looks. I’ll do stuff at night that is dark and dirty, in a dungeon, then another one will be bright and sunny.”
He glanced over his shoulder at Jade, who was slipping on sexy garb and eyeing the strap-on enthusiastically. The raven-haired succubus wickedly growled, “I’m hoping to put it in her butt and fuck the shit out of her.”
She cooed, flashing her cute little fangs, “That’s the idea, anyhow. I haven’t worn my strap-on in a really long time, especially for girls, and I’m really excited. Normally, I wear strap-ons for dudes in my personal life. It’s one of my all-time favorite things to do, that I rarely get to."
When asked how banging girls with a strap-on differs from pegging the gents, Jade said, “I don’t like physically abusing girls, whatsoever … I love to pleasure them, whereas I love to smack the shit out of dudes, with their consent of course, haha. So, it’ll definitely be different for me. But I’m still really excited to fuck her. We’ve actually done Snapchat content before, but this is one of our first scenes, unless you count ‘Brazzers House.’”
She then shared how, when she hangs out socially with male performers and she asks them who they’re sleeping with, when they say “Karma,” she reacts, “I’m like ‘I’m soooo jealous! Tell me about it! What’s she do?’ I’ll literally ask them, ‘So then what, and then what?’ I’ve literally interrogated guys. I’m psycho, haha! Everything though, I like about her. It’s the mindset. I get way more turned on by the brain than the physicality. She’s a badass … a bad bitch, but also so soft and kind too. Fuck! I’m going to cry! And her tattoos are fucking great, too. They’re black and grey and that anarchy tattoo is sooo sexy. We’re literally opposites, though, in many ways.”
Streams got up then, and pointed to the very same arm tattoos on Rx that Jade had praised, before he harkened back to the scene with Mars. Gripping her arm gently, his fingers encircling the pecs of a John Milton-looking Lucifer tattoo depicting a handsome male figure with long hair and angelic wings, he demonstrated how “when Natalie asked her to push it in her ass during a fisting part of the scene, right there is where her asshole was, and it just looked so cool.”
Rx chimed in, stating, “It was like, ‘You got Lucifer in your butt!’” Everyone laughed. She then explained the history behind the tattoo, and how that particular depiction of Lucifer “was removed from a Catholic church at one point, because they were worried that the girls would get turned on,” prompting Jade to reply, “Damn Satan!”
Reclining against the wall, Rx then reflected, “I love working with Chris Streams. He is a fantastic director and one of my favorite people in the industry. He has helped walk me through some of the more challenging aspects of this showcase and pushed my limits comfortably in a safe environment.”
After several minutes of bantering and outfit tweaking, Rx and Jade were in full-on babe mode, with bikinis aglitter tracing those sculpted curves. Sashaying to the pool outside, they pranced and posed and trotted about, touching then not touching, bending low and unfurling their ample breasts, for pretty girl shots.
The ferns swayed in the gentle breeze, which wasn’t quite chilly enough on that summery day to prevent an overheated electrical plug from zapping and popping at one point. Streams calmly went over to fix the smoking contraption and had it in working order very fast, once more feeding energy to the flashing bulbs exploding within their diffusers.
Meanwhile, taking a break from his behind-the-scenes duties, Flush stepped away to talk shop with XBIZ. “I’ve been in the industry for at least 15 years,” he said. “Very first shoot was Manuel Ferrara’s first scene in the States. We had a great convo, I spoke two words of French and he spoke three words of English. I had to pick him up and drive him to Malibu.”
He then name-dropped a legendary quantity of old school figures and stars he had worked with over the years, performing a variety of jobs ranging from production assistant to production manager. It would be Ferrara, however, who later introduced Flush to Chris Streams, for the Black Ice brand under the umbrella of Zero Tolerance.
“I’ve probably been working with Chris for 10 years,” he continued, noting that his official title is production manager. “I book everything for him, coordinate stuff, help him with the budgets and act like his assistant. When people describe us — if you ask a bunch of porn stars that shoot for us regularly — we’re kind of like a married couple. But I’m the devil’s advocate, saying, ‘Let’s think about it,’ before we jump in. I’ll hang in the background until there’s something I need to interject on, then I’ll pop up.”
Changing gears to the “Bad Karma” shoot, he said, “This particular project, I think, is really going to help with his brand, with people that don’t know him … that don’t realize how creative he is. He’s great at gonzo and he’s one of the best photographers in my estimation. Plus, Karma Rx has been amazing. She’s pushed her boundaries and I think part of that is the relationship she has with Chris. She trusts him and that goes a long way when you’re doing some of the things she’s done in this movie.”
Suddenly loud, with his deep voice, Flush boomed, “I’m his guy and he has my back,” to which Streams jested, “I’m everybody’s guy!” before noting he still works with Ferrara, as well as others, behind the scenes.
By this point, he was configuring his camera for underwater mode, outfitting it with protective tech, before slinking into the pool to join Rx and Jade for some wetness-inducing wetness. They played and pawed and pouted those lush dick-sucking lips, the slick water running down their man-enslaving tits in rivulets, yet never fully messing up their makeup or hair — for they took care not to dip down too much.
After a couple galleries worth of photos, it was time for the sex, though given Streams’ desire to keep that portion private from the media’s eyes — and because he found it helpful getting the right footage swiftly without an errant glimpse of a news fella in the back — XBIZ was unable to witness the Sapphic splendor live. Taking a look at the finished product, however (since the title has been fully released now), makes it plenty obvious that this is a man who knows his way around lady-lips-on-lady-labia and strap-on-fueled lust.
Reflecting on the girl/girl scene later, Rx shared, “My scene with Katrina was awesome, for one, because we had never shot a professional scene together, and moreover, because she is one of my favorite people. She's sweet and genuine and kind, and that's hard to find in this industry. Also she fucked my ass with a strap-on molded after James Deen's dick, so that was extra special, ha!
“I'm so grateful for the opportunity given to me by Evil Angel and Chris Streams and everyone involved,” she added. “And I'm grateful to my fans for supporting me and walking through some of the more challenging aspects of the job with me.”
Beyond the safe sets he fosters, the digital streams flowing from Streams and his practiced eye give proof to his enduring legacy as a damn fine director. And for a movie titled “Bad Karma,” he has certainly reaped very good karma … very solid tit for tat, from those award-winning tits and tats.
