BOSTON — Sssh.com founder Angie Rowntree is harkening back to the time of radio theatre to bring listeners "a lost art from a simpler time," with her latest project for the female-friendly erotica site.
Scripted erotic audio plays, or "erotic ASMR," as one of the project's writers, Nica Noelle, puts it, are now available on the platform. As per reps, the plays are performed in the style of old-time radio shows and feature adult film actors in a variety of roles.
Previously, Sssh.com offered simpler audio stories performed by a singular reader. The new content however will feature “fully-scripted stories and rich, emotional performances,” complete with foley sound effects, which "add an addition layer of aural realism," said Rowntree.
“And obviously we include the lovely sounds of kissing, breathing and moaning,” she added, exuberantly.
According to Rowntree, erotic audio stories are frequently requested by Sssh.com members. “The aural experience allows the listener to engage her mind a bit more and let her imagination fill in the blanks,” she explained. “It’s highly personal and intimate.”
Noelle, whose first audio play for the project, “Her Husband’s Mother," depicts a drunken encounter between a woman and her daughter-in-law, similarly shared her insight as to the growing popularity of the genre.
"You can indulge discreetly by simply putting on a pair of headphones," she said. "It’s relaxing and stimulating and incredibly sexy.”
Set to premiere on October 1, “Her Husband’s Mother” stars Andi James and Ava Mir-Ausziehen. After the women share a kiss at a Christmas party, a "Pandora's box of lesbian feelings" is opened," leading to a heated tryst.
“I told Angie I wanted listeners to hear every sip of tea as they talk, every lip-smacking sound as they kiss,” Noelle said.
Erotic audio plays that are available include, “2118,” a science fiction novella in six chapters and “The Oracle's Price,” a dramatic tale set in medieval times.
