SAN FRANCISCO — Falcon Studios Group has issued a warning regarding what they describe as an "ongoing, elaborate scam" wherein an individual posing as a Falcon representative has attempted to recruit men under the guise of appearing in a Falcon production.
Primarily working through Grindr and Instagram, the individual has created fake profiles posing as a veteran gay porn performer and claims to be recruiting for the legacy brand.
As per an official Falcon rep, "The scam artist lures prospective models and gay porn newcomers with sexy photos, personal video clips and the promise of appearing in our movies, quoting $2,500-3,500 compensation for the shoot based on his performance."
"Potential models are then told they must pay deposits of up to over $1,000 to cover different items such as contract and film date retainers, medical coverage fees, and more."
Studio representatives are now reminding prospective performers that they will never charge models fees or deposits of any kind.
"Falcon Studios Group and NakedSword Originals pay models to appear in their productions, and assists with travel and accommodations," said the official rep.
“Our top priority is always the well-being of everyone we work with, including potential models. We encourage prospective performers to submit their application, and if they’re a fit for an upcoming production, they will be contacted by either myself or one of our directors, but they will never be asked to pay any money to us under any circumstances,” said VP of Production, Adam Q. Robinson.
Company President Tim Valenti echoed those concerns. “We feel for anyone who has been scammed out of money to appear in our movies and hope we can raise awareness about this so nobody else is deceived or exploited,” he said. “We’re committed to do anything we can to ensure that nobody else falls victim to this blatant misrepresentation and fraud.”
The disturbing report comes just days after a similar industry alert was issued by the FSC regarding a Greg Lansky impersonator, who has been targeting U.S.-based models via WhatsApp.
Falcon Studios Group and the NakedSword Network encourage aspiring performers to apply via the group’s online Model Application at Model4Falcon.com and to be on the lookout for this scam.
Reps urge performers who feel they've been targeted to contact their local authorities and to email report@falconstudios.com with screen shots of messages and any supporting communication so that Falcon may verify their validity.
