HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Marica Hase, still on her journey of recovery from breast cancer, has announced a new collaboration with cult Japanese brand Marrion Apparel, releasing custom Fuck Cancer Project (FC Project) emojis for the LINE app and launching a website dedicated to the project.
Weeks after the Japanese performer, who’s active on both sides of the Pacific, unveiled her Fuck Cancer limited-edition line of T-shirts through Marrion Apparel, featuring doll sidekick Buusan and herself.
“The FC Project has been a huge undertaking, and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without Marrion Apparel,” said Hase. “Buusan is our ambassador, and I’m excited that he has his own emojis on LINE. I worked hard to get approval from LINE to carry it in their store.”
LINE is an app, similar to WhatsApp, that allows users to make free calls and send messages. It’s available in the App Store for iOS or Google Play Store for Android. Users can purchase FC Project animated emojis featuring Buusan, aka Boo-san, the project’s cheerleader. In the United States, they’re 99 cents, but in Japan, they’re 50 coins. Part of the profits will be donated to cancer charity City of Hope.
The official website for the FC Project has also launched. The site explains the project’s mission and introduces Hase, and how you can support her cause. It also features photos and videos of Hase, and links to her social media channels.
There are still a few Fuck Cancer tees available in Hase’s online store; some sizes are sold out. Once you purchase the shirt, email Hase your preferred size at Marica@marica-hase.com. For every shirt sold, $5 will be donated to the City of Hope.
Hase is posting new videos every day at 6 p.m. (PDT) to her official YouTube channel chronicling her recovery from cancer and her life’s adventures.
