HOUSTON — Aneros is issuing a voluntary recall of its new Vice 2 hands-free prostate massager for a manufacturing defect that reduces its ability to perform certain functions. The company said the defect poses no safety risk.
“We regret to announce a voluntary recall for the Vice 2 after discovering a manufacturing defect which reduces functionality,” said Brent Aldon, director of sales and marketing. “We are committed to providing the full experience Vice 2 was intended to offer, and we’re doing everything in our power to make sure our customers are satisfied.”
Aneros engineers found the defect on some Vice 2 massagers, which causes several of its 18 vibration patterns to operate at one speed only.
Customers can learn how to return their Vice 2 to Aneros by visiting Aneros.com/vice-2-recall or emailing vice2@aneros.com to request a prepaid shipping label; return shipping is free to the customer. Customers who purchased the item from the Aneros website may ask for a refund or a warranty exchange for a replacement unit. Replacement units will be shipped to customers in September.
The entire Vice 2 set — including the device, remote, and charging cable — must be returned to receive a refund, which will be issued upon receipt of the product.
For warranty exchanges, only the device, excluding remote and charging cable, need be returned. Device-only exchanges will be accepted when Vice 2 replacements are available in September and will be shipped within three-to-five business days of receipt of the defective unit.
Only Vice 2 purchases from authorized Aneros retailers will be eligible for a warranty exchange.
“We apologize to all of our customers for any inconvenience this may have caused and we appreciate their patience as we continue to resolve this issue,” Aldon added.
