CYBERSPACE — Amberly Rothfield and photographer David Corey have teamed on “To Sex, with Love,” a book project to be produced by and for sex workers and adult industry performers, with proceeds to benefit a variety of organizations whose missions support those communities.
“The adult industry is complex but the voices of those working within it are often marginalized,” a rep said. “Intended to be a literary hug from sex workers to sex workers, this piece is also intended to help anyone who is curious about our little world and get insight directly from those involved.”
Rothfield is a noted sexpert, author and activist and a 2019 XBIZ Cam Awards nominee for Community Figure of the Year. Corey is an industry shutterbug via Angry Pony Photography; his Angry Pony Media, and In the Margins Press, are the driving force behind the project.
Submissions are invited from those who have three-to-five years’ experience in camming, fetish modeling, exotic dancing, phone sex, sex work advocacy and on-camera performance and content creation, among other adult industry fields.
“An individual contribution should comprise a personal letter… either personal or professional. The tone of each letter should be personable, empathetic and include one or more of: advice, inspiration, a personal story, a cautionary tale,” notes the submission guidelines.
The intent is to promote a sense of community with an intersectional focus and to represent “a variety of genders, ethnicities, ages, body types and sexual preferences and come from a broad spectrum of sex work backgrounds.”
The deadline for submissions is December 15; a publication date is planned for June 2, 2020, which is International Sex Workers Day.
Proceeds will benefit Sex Workers Outreach Project USA (SWOP-USA), Pineapple Support and Adult Performers Actors Guild (APAG).
