LOS ANGELES — John Tegan, a veteran of the gay adult industry's executive and creative ranks, has passed away. News spread quickly via social media as the weekend commenced; Tegan's husband has confirmed the news.
Tegan passed Thursday at home; a cause of death has not been publicly revealed.
A popular and esteemed director, screenwriter and producer, Tegan served in a variety of capacities behind the scenes, including casting director, marketing executive and head of production. He worked for legacy brand COLT Studio Group and was a driving force behind the revival of the Jet Set Men brand over 12 years ago. In 2010, he was the first talent and production executive hired by Jake Cruise Media.
Tegan also operated a fan-favorite blog, GayDailyHot. In recent months, he had stepped in to operate another blog, TheSword.com, when its editor, Harlan Yaffe, passed away.
