EDSE Sex-Ed Certification Announces New Sessions

LOS ANGELES — Educational org Everyone Deserves Sex Ed (EDSE) has announced the next set of dates for its sex educator certification program.

The next training sessions are November 9-10 and 16-17 in Los Angeles.

EDSE was founded by industry vet Anne Hodder-Shipp to provide “a foundational understanding of human sexuality,” a rep said, “including anatomy, gender and safer sex, to transform the way professionals think about their business.”

Attendees will emerge with “an informed, LGBTQIA-inclusive and sex-positive perspective” whether they work in product design and development, sales, content production or performance, said the rep.

“Adult industry professionals talk about sex almost every day, whether it’s with a customer, a client, a fan or a shopper trying to pick out a new product, and saying the right — or wrong — thing can make or break the conversation,” Hodder-Shipp said. “Information is empowerment, and I want industry professionals to feel comfortable and confident doing their jobs while providing the best customer service possible. The EDSE certification not only helps reduce misinformation and personal bias from the process, but also gives adult companies a way to differentiate themselves in this competitive industry.”

Danny Gibson, buyer for Lion’s Den, enthused about the certification program. “We hear the term ‘sexual wellness’ so often in our industry and it was nice to finally put a face to that name,” he said. “Our customers continue to grow and have become so knowledgeable, and it’s important to stay ahead of that so we can continue to guide them along their journeys. I’m so thankful for the EDSE experience and glad I could take part in it.”

Charlotte Stokely echoed Gibson’s praise. “I assumed the course would be a simple accomplishment due to my being a porn star and sex worker for 15 years, but Anne and her team did an amazing job showing me that I still had a lot to learn,” she said. “I especially loved the inclusion of communication skills and how to speak to clients. Very helpful!”

Hodder-Shipp notes she and her staff will travel to companies who seek to certify five or more employees.
