LONDON — Lisa Ann has accepted an invitation to speak at the Oxford Union for a star-studded debate on the place of pornography in sex-ed courses this Thursday at 8:30 p.m (BST).
Known as the world's "most prestigious debating society," The Oxford Union student society brings together international guests and speakers to the distinguished university. Approaching its 200th anniversary, the Union aims to promote "debate and discussion not just in Oxford University, but across the globe."
Joining her in the debate are Dr. Christian Jessen, a practicing doctor and TV personality; Dr. Ruth Westheimer, the world-renowned German-American sex therapist, media personality and author; Anja Rubik, one of the most successful supermodels of the past few decades; and Maggie Atkinson, a member of the Department of Health’s Children and Young People’s Health Outcomes Forum.
Lisa Ann says she is "honored" to have been invited to take part in the debate along with her esteemed colleagues. "I have to admit meeting Dr. Ruth is quite an honor in itself!"
The debate, titled "This House Believes That Porn has a Place in Sex Education," will center on porn's viability as an educational tool. Whether pornography can help to develop emerging sexuality in teens and act as a sex-ed resource or if it is merely an unrealistic depiction of sex that contributes to a misguided approach to pleasure will be at the heart of the discussion.
