NEW YORK — CineKink NYC has announced the full line-up of screenings and events for the festival’s 16th edition.
The annual kinky film fest will take place April 3-7 and will highlight a curated program of films and videos that celebrate and explore a wide diversity of sexuality. In addition to screenings, plans for the festival also include a short film competition, presentations, audience choice awards, a fundraising kick-off gala and a concluding "AfterGlow" play party.
The event is presented by CineKink, an organization dedicated to the recognition and encouragement of sex-positive and kink-friendly depictions in film and television. “Works featured at CineKink NYC will range from documentary to drama, comedy to experimental, mildly spicy to quite explicit and everything in between,” said a rep.
"It's stunning how sex-positive filmmaking has evolved in the years we've been presenting the festival," said Lisa Vandever, co-founder and director of CineKink."We had such amazing works to choose from this season, from the countless alumni filmmakers we’ve showcased over the years, and from many newcomers. It’s a pleasure to offer such a rich and diverse festival line-up."
The CineKink NYC festivities commence Wednesday, April 3, at 8 p.m. (EST) with a fundraising kick-off gala featuring burlesque performances, sexy "sensation stations," and a raffle of sex-positive swag at the M1-5 Lounge.
The festival will then continue to the Anthology Film Archives where the documentary film "The Artist and the Pervert" will kick off screenings Thursday-Saturday before closing with a filmmaking workshop, awards celebration and the AfterGlow play party at Bowery Bliss on Sunday, April 7.
