LOS ANGELES — Wicked Pictures and director Axel Braun have begun pre-production on “Captain Marvel XXX: An Axel Braun Parody” and they’re looking for a hero.
The big-budget feature is a follow-up to Braun’s XBIZ Award-winning “Deadpool XXX,” which earned Comedy Release of the Year honors as well as a trophy for leading man Seth Gamble.
“I actually had been working for the past two months on a completely different parody,” Braun said “But last week I went to see ‘Captain Marvel’ on opening day, and ten minutes into the movie, I just knew I had to do this, and I had to do it now.”
The superhero epic opened at the top of the worldwide box office with Oscar-winner Brie Larson in the title role. “It’s an absolutely perfect movie to parody. I was so exhilarated after watching it that I left the theater, got in my car and literally wrote the treatment on my iPad in the parking lot. I cannot wait to start shooting it,” he said.
Braun is now seeking “a female performer whose acting ability and charisma can march her sexual prowess.” He encourages prospective leading ladies to contact their agents; self-booking talent should request sides by emailing casting@axelbraun.com.
“For the sides I picked a fairly long monologue, and probably not the easiest to memorize,” the director notes. “But this is going to be a very demanding role, and I want to make sure that whoever I choose will be able to really bring this character to life, and give me and the movie 110-percent. It all starts with showing me that they’re willing to take the time and put in the work for a killer audition. And if I see someone who’s great, but not right for this specific role, I will always remember them for future projects.”
Wicked invites potential Captain Marvels to research previous incarnations of the character in other media.
