Flirt4Free Wins Cybersquatting Case, 49 Domains Ordered Transferred

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. — Cam network Flirt4Free has scored a big victory against operators of almost 50 sites who cybersquatted its trademark.

As a result of the victory before a WIPO arbitrator, domains taking advantage of misspellings of the complainant’s brand were ordered transferred to VS Media Inc, who owns Flirt4Free.

Founded in 1996, VS Media provides online platforms for interactive content such as video and chat services. VS Media has used the Flirt4Free name since 1999 and has held the trademark since 2003. Throughout its two decades, Flirt4Free has garnered numerous accolades, including six XBIZ Awards.

VS Media’s complaint was filed with the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center on January 3, 2019.

The disputed domain names had been registered between 2016 and 2018 either by Zhichao Yang or on behalf of “Fly Fish.” They redirected to third party’s websites displaying links to Flirt4Free, as well as various links to competing adult sites.
