Presented by premium adult entertainment community ManyVids.com, the annual trade events series takes over West Hollywood’s Andaz hotel from Jan. 14-18 for four action-packed days of unparalleled business opportunities, culminating in style on Thursday, Jan. 17, with the highly anticipated 2019 XBIZ Awards show, presented by MyFreeCams.com.
XBIZ 2019 builds upon the successes of its most-popular past sessions while adding a refreshed selection of new sessions targeting the industry’s most significant touch points today, offering the answers and opportunities for all attendees that XBIZ events are known for.
Opening day, Monday, Jan. 14, kicks off with the annual XBIZ Golf Tournament hosted by X2K Consulting — providing a relaxing afternoon of golf and executive networking, with participants mixing, mingling and competing in this annual event at the Angeles National Golf Course.
One headline of the day is the debut of the XBIZ Sky Lounge, a rooftop pavilion serving as the prime gathering place for attendees, where uninterrupted business and relationship building happens against an open-air backdrop of the luxurious L.A. skyline.
Other opening-day specials include a special tour of Playboy’s L.A. headquarters. This fun-filled and interesting activity is open to all attendees and will bring industry influencers and newcomers together for bond-building, business and more.
Rounding out the opening day is the Kick-Off Happy Hour, providing XBIZ Show attendees with a complimentary cocktail networking social before the 19th annual Cybersocket Web Awards, honoring the best LGBT websites and service providers at a red-carpet event with shuttle service provided from the Andaz hotel.
The 2019 XBIZ Show events series shifts into high gear on Tuesday, Jan. 15, with the return of its popular Speed Networking session, which offers a fast-paced B2B matchmaking and relationship building environment that establishes new contacts and opens the door to new opportunities —and only one representative is allowed per company, maximizing participant value.
Next, XBIZ brings attendees the best in industry thought leadership, beginning with Mindbrowse presenting a discussion on “Porn Production & Consent: Before, During, and After a Shoot.” This exclusive session, produced by Sssh.com’s Angie Rowntree with Dr. Chauntelle Tibbals providing organization and moderation, will tackle the complex, multifaceted topic of “consent” in porn.
XBIZ’s renowned NETbilling-sponsored seminar series begins with a look towards the future as an elite group of adult studio execs call upon their past experiences to explore compelling and profitable porn production for the year ahead, while the newest live cam industry insights will be revealed by top network and studio operators.
Later, one of adult’s most talked-about topics, “Augmented, Mixed and Virtual Reality,” will be explored, with a focus on 2019’s top trends for creating and marketing immersive experiences.
XBIZ continues its outreach to independent content creators, performers and models with its special Talent Track, which begins with a profit-provoking look at “Revenue Streams: Dollars From Diversity,” which details how a mix of active and passive revenue streams maximizes per-fan income, while “Performing in Adult: Earning Through Empowerment,” covers a wide range of topics, including how to find a suitable agency vs. booking solo, keeping organized shooting schedules, off-set work opportunities and more.
Next, a look at “Performer Marketing,” shows the inside track to self-marketing success in an inspiring session.
A Business Insider’s Track kicks off with a look at “Porn With a Purpose” by CockyBoys CEO Jake Jaxson, who will discuss how sex workers continue to face obstacles, bullying and crackdowns on their ability to grow and thrive, revealing how porn “created with purpose” can counter negative stereotypes, social stigmas and oppression.
Next, a workshop on “Social Media Success: Top Tips for 2019,” provides actionable techniques that all brands and social stars can use to boost their business, while the WIA Power Panel serves up a notable group of self-empowered business professionals discussing some of the most important issues facing females in the industry.
The Tech Track features a special presentation by MojoHost on “Web Tech Today,” while the latest info on the U.K.’s age-verification law will be explained in a timely workshop by AVSecure’s CMO Stephen Winyard, who will explore the guidance from the BBFC on the content that is allowed before age verification.
Finally, a look at “Crypto 2019” will reveal today’s newest implementation options, usage strategies and more, with a focus on 2019’s best practices.
One highlight of XBIZ 2019 is an exclusive keynote address by Gamma Films Head of Production Bree Mills, the mastermind behind Girlsway.com, PrettyDirty.com and PureTaboo.com, who will delve into her unique blend of cinematic storytelling, edgy adult filmmaking and iconoclastic artistry to reveal insights from her vast experience in producing nearly 100 scenes per month.
Tuesday’s action-packed schedule doesn’t end at the close of business hours, however, with the Mix & Meet Market happy hour bringing attendees and exhibitors together over complimentary cocktails to make new deals while learning about the newest products and services. This social sets the stage for the online industry edition of the 2019 XBIZ Exec Awards — where 100 finalists will vie for the annual peer-nominated honor recognizing leadership ability, business acumen, positive community influence and overall career success.
Capping the evening is the inaugural XBIZ “Rooftop Rager” party presented by MojoHost and Silverstein Legal, where attendees should dress to impress at this high-energy penthouse suite party scene that’s all about seeing and being seen.
On Wednesday, Jan. 16, the opportunities roll on at XBIZ’s exclusive Sky Lounge networking hub, while the exclusive Content Matchmaker session connects content producers, including talent who create their own content, with content marketers and monetizers to discuss business in an executive networking event.
The NETbilling-sponsored seminar series continues with panels pursuing the newest insights on a pair of perennially popular topics: “Adult Billing Trends” and “Adult’s Legal Landscape.” Also, “Taking the Reigns: Sitting in the Director’s Chair,” will discuss how being in control of an adult production is a satisfying creative experience that occurs in a highly competitive, diverse and ever-evolving consumer marketplace, while “Paysites 2019?” will explore the continued viability of premium porn.
Providing a unique perspective on the industry today, “Performers of the Year” will gather some of the top names in the business to reveal the secrets of stardom and long-term success, while a group of elite execs will take on “The State of the Industry,” with an analysis of the important issues facing the industry today and for the foreseeable future.
The Talent Track continues with a look at “Camming 2019: The State of the Art,” encompassing everything from interactive toys to mobile camming, virtual reality and beyond, while the debut of XBIZ’s “Clip Artist College” caters to the new breed of independent producers taking the adult world by storm. For those seeking a solid career as a performer, “Agent Representation: Getting Gigs the Easy Way” will show attendees how having a reputable agent will make life easier and their career more profitable.
Next, a trilogy of sessions will explore “Storytelling in Gay Porn,” in the newest installment of Cybersocket’s annual look at the market, which will tackle a key ingredient to quality content; while Grooby presents “Transgender Success, 2019,” with Steven Grooby and Kristel Penn hosting an insightful roundtable discussion of issues pertinent to performers and promoters.
Finally, Pink & White will present “Queer Porn vs. the Mainstream: Bridging the Gap,” which will look at how the term “queer porn” has served to define itself by what conventional porn is not and provide a discussion on how queer theory meets practice.
As if that all wasn’t enough, a series of workshops will provide strategic insights on a range of business building topics, including the ASACP Workshop presented by ASACP Executive Director Tim Henning, who will detail the launch of the new Restricted To Adults “Plus” (RTA+) solution for online child protection.
A session on “Public Relations: PR Possibilities for Performers,” will reveal how broader PR efforts can fill in the social media gaps to help build new audiences; and by popular demand, a session on “Custom Clips: Satisfying Consumer Demand,” that will help all content creators take the guesswork out of their next production.
A special “talent targeted” edition of XBIZ’s Mix & Meet will ease personal introductions and develop connections between models, content producers and marketers, while serving as an arena for content trades and more. Follow up this networking experience with a Chaturbate-sponsored WIA cocktail mixer before kicking off the Wednesday night merrymaking, including the retail edition of the XBIZ Exec Awards.
Headlining the evening is the Winter Wonderland party, sponsored by ManyVids, JustFor.fans and ModelCentro, XBIZ’s annual pajama-and lingerie-clad cocktail party oozing sex appeal at the Andaz hotel’s rooftop pool that recognizes the year’s XBIZ Awards-nominated performers and where attendees are encouraged to arrive in their finest sleepwear and sexiest lingerie.
Thursday, Jan. 17, will see the return of the Free Speech Coalition’s Leadership Conference, where an experienced panel of insiders will present a series of in-depth conversations about our industry and its current concerns, with vital views on business, politics, technology, health and other relevant topics on industry leaders’ agendas.
And, finally, the day kicks into high gear for the adult industry’s biggest night, the 2019 XBIZ Awards show, presented by MyFreeCams and hosted by adult icon Stormy Daniels, honoring the best of the best of the business of sex at this red-carpet gala and elegant afterparty that delivers Hollywood glitz and glitter to an international entourage of industry A-listers.
