CARSON CITY, Nev. — Associates of late brothel owner Dennis Hof are planning to revive the industry’s lobbying efforts in Nevada.
The Nevada Brothel Association announced its formation last week as a political action committee, or PAC. According to a report, the industry’s longtime brothel lobbyist retired in 2015, leaving no unified voice for the state’s brothel owners for the past three years.
The PAC filed with the Nevada Secretary of State’s office in November and named Suzette Cole, the manager and madam of Hof’s four Lyon County brothels, as its director. Cole operates the Sagebrush Ranch, Kit Kat Guest Ranch, Love Ranch and Moonlite Bunny Ranch.
Chuck Muth, who was an associate of Hof, told the press that a failed effort to outlaw brothels in Lyon County spurred the group’s formation.
Muth, now a spokesman for the PAC, said the group plans to fight legislation that proposes to end legal prostitution in the state.
Hof died in October, weeks before he won a state Assembly election in Southern Nevada.
