BERGEN, Norway — Data-driven ad network PlugRush has announced the addition of push notifications for publishers. These tools now join the portfolio of various ad formats the platform has to offer.
According to the company, push notifications are a great way for publishers to monetize their visitors.
“The first stage is completed and the technology is ready to go,” says PlugRush CEO Jørgen Bogetveit, “so all publishers, existing and new ones, can add their websites to the PlugRush ad network; implement our Main Ad Code on them; and then activate Push Notification Ads (and other ad-formats) for the websites they see fit.”
Bogetveit notes that push notifications are an effective engagement tool for businesses and webmasters, provide value to both website visitors and owners, at the same time, and most importantly they don’t require any specific technology to be implemented by the end user.
“Once you have push notification ads active on your site, the users get a small prompt in the browser to accept receiving notifications. If they choose to allow them, it will then be possible to serve them advertisements via push,” Bogetveit says. “The fact that they need to opt in by clicking to allow them speaks volumes to the quality of traffic provided since it’s not an intrusive way of advertising but rather requested by the user personally.
PlugRush notes that both mainstream and adult sites can add push notification ads.
“Since July 2018 and the launch of mainstream traffic on PlugRush, we’re constantly improving the technology of our platform and also keeping our word to expand the portfolio and reach publishers and advertisers from both sides of the spectrum,” Bogetveit explains. “Our goal is to provide all the traffic available to our advertisers allowing them to diversify the offers that they are running but also to include every type of site or app that our publishers want to monetize.”
“Push notifications are a natural next step for us,” Bogetveit concludes, “and in the following weeks we’ll be inviting our advertisers to start promoting their offers via push notifications.”
