SAN FRANCISCO — The Center for Sex & Culture has issued a call for support on #GivingTuesday.
The San Francisco-based educational 501(c)(3) nonprofit that serves individuals and organizations across the sexuality and gender spectrum with classes, cultural events, a gallery, library and archive, said that the clock is ticking on its brick-and-mortar existence.
“The Center for Sex & Culture's lease ends in just over two months. Currently, we don't have a new space,” the group’s Carol Queen said. “We will continue pop-up and co-sponsored programming and internet activities like webcasting and such."
The group said that if a few more people step up to join our team, it is possible that the center could have a home past Thursday, Jan. 31.
“Several members of our team would like that, though we don't have enough human bandwidth to try it without more participation,” Queen said. “We will still need to fundraise. We need a web person. We need more promo. This recruitment could allow us to continue our role as a community center — so if that part of CSC has been of value to you, please help us recruit for these positions!
