SAN FRANCISCO — NakedSword Originals has rolled out “Nob Hill,” now in wholesale/retail release, which pays tribute to the city’s iconic Nob Hill Theatre that recently announced it will permanently shutter.
The film’s first scene will go live online for VOD purchase Nov. 14; a promotional microsite has been launched, which includes a trailer, wallpapers and behind-the-scenes footage, and the DVD and digital downloads are available in the Falcon Studios online store.
The studio sprang into action when the venue’s owners announced they had elected to sell the venue and retire. Permission was sought, and granted, to film one final adult film in the space, to be directed by XBIZ Award-winner mr. Pam.
"When we found out that Nob Hill was closing we knew we had to do something to memorialize this legendary theatre which has been a part of San Francisco gay adult entertainment for the past five decades,” Pam told XBIZ in August (click here for that story).
The cast of erotic A-listers is led by Falcon Studios exclusives Woody Fox and Alam Wernik. Costars include Max Adonis, Timarrie Baker, Jessie Colter, Max Duro, Leo Forte, Adam Killian and Brandon Wilde.
“For the past 50 years, locals and tourists have flocked to San Francisco’s legendary Nob Hill Theatre to see, and touch, their favorite gay adult entertainers,” said a studio rep. “In NakedSword Originals' love letter to the historic theatre, you can follow the promiscuous Larry (Killian), husband Gary (Forte), and the sex-hungry staff as they prepare for the theatre’s grand finale event — a live sex show extravaganza! Acrobatic sex, glory holes and plenty of nostalgia. The entire movie was filmed on location in the theatre, and the double penetration scene featuring Adam, Jessie and Max was shot live in front of a wide-eyed sold-out audience. NakedSword and the Nob Hill Theatre invite you to ‘touch our junk’ one last time."
The characters "Larry" and "Gary" are named for the venue's longtime owners, and real-life partners, Larry Hoover and Gary Luce.
Pam said “pure love” motivated the entire project. "This movie is a love letter to this historic theatre that was built in 1911 and has served as the backdrop for so many gay sexual escapades. The Nob Hill Theatre represents a big part of San Francisco gay culture. The closing is an end of an era. Over the past seven years, I have filmed some of my favorite gay porn in the seedy, and welcoming, underbelly of the theatre while becoming good friends with the owners."
“Every scenario and dialogue scene in the movie is inspired by true life events,” she said. “I'm especially proud of my all-star cast who made our Nob Hill send-off a hot and beautiful reality."
Tim Valenti, president of Falcon Studios Group and the NakedSword Network, to proud to have been able to honor the Nob Hill one final time. "We are thrilled to be a part of an event 50 years in the making and we’re honored to be able to pay tribute to a San Francisco gay institution,” he said. “’Nob Hill’ is one of our best releases this year and it serves as an historical document of what gay life in San Francisco used to be like before social media and hook-up apps."
