The shows are self-rated TVMA (TV Mature Audience), and are aimed at a broad-based audience that is expected to include women and couples.
"It is a new direction for Vivid, and it's a new direction that has been overdue," Executive Producer David Burstein told XBIZ. "It's time for Vivid to be recognized as an entertainment conglomerate, with adult being part of what we do. This is our entry into more global types of programming. It pushes the envelope of TV, but it's tame to the standards of X-rated programming."
"Wild Weekend at Club Vivid" features Vivid contract performers Kayden Kross and Lanny Barby as they invite six other adult performers for a weekend party at Kayden's home in Southern California. The show will premiere on DirecTV on July 2 and can be seen throughout the month of July.
The second Vivid Voyeur TV offering is "Porn Star Makeover: Vivid Style."
"We're going to take girls off the street, do them up, and take them to clubs," Burstein said. "The way we're going to get more women viewers is to involve them."
