MELBOURNE — Adult star Angela White, in an article and video posted today at DailyMail.com, opened up to Australia TV personality Andrew Denton about how the adult entertainment biz “can do better” to protect performers.
White, a multi-winning XBIZ Awards recipient as a performer and producer, spoke out about how she aims to create “ethical sets” by paying performers on time and ensuring safety. White owns adult studio AGW Entertainment, which operates AngelaWhite.com.
“I think our industry can always do better to protect the performers in it,” White told Denton. “'A set [is] where people are fed, where they feel comfortable, where they feel warm.”
She also said that what happens on camera should never be performed without consent.
White said that in her productions all sex acts are negotiated before they are performed in order to ensure everyone is comfortable and that performers are able to opt out of a scene should they begin to feel uneasy — even if previous consent was granted.
“At any point they can withdraw their consent for any act that they previously said they were willing to do,” she said.
The issues surrounding performer consent have continued to make headlines this year after two adult stars, Leigh Raven and Riley Nixon, came forth publicly about alleged abuse during the production of adult scenes. Another star, Nikki Benz, also alleged abuse during the production of another movie and has filed litigation over it.
