Prosecutors Drop Charges Against Stormy Daniels

Updated (12:25 p.m. PDT): Stormy Daniels attorney Michael Avenatti tweeted that the show must go on, and that Daniels has decided to head back the Sirens club to feature dance tonight.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Prosecutors today moved to dismiss charges stemming from her arrest at a Columbus, Ohio, strip club last night.

“The state does not have probable cause to proceed on any of the three charges set forth in the complaints,” Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein wrote in his motion to dismiss.

A judge already has signed off on the motion.

Columbus Police Department arrested Daniels after she allegedly touched three different undercover vice police officers during her performance at the Sirens club.

Prosecutors dropped the case against Daniels because Ohio’s statute over illegal sexual oriented activity in a sexually oriented business is governed by the language, “no person who regularly appears” shall touch a patron.

“Neither in their report nor probable cause affaidavit do the detectives allege defendant has performed at Sirens at any time other than” last night, prosecutors said in their motion to dismiss.

Daniels is scheduled as host of the 2019 XBIZ Awards in January.
