CYBERSPACE — Gay adult icon Trenton Ducati told XBIZ today that his company, Ducati Studios, will be rolling out a “Next Steps” program for the gay adult performing community in coming months.
Ducati said the new support program will take aim at mental health issues and offer educational assistance for multimedia production.
He noted that news of the recent tragic deaths in the gay porn community were a catalyst for the program. Some of the deaths — including those of performers Dave Slick and Tyler White — were reportedly linked to addiction.
“I think we can combat the recent tragedies in our industry by reaching out more to our models and talking about mental health out loud,” Ducati said.
Ducati said his goal is to offer a safe place to ask questions within our industry.
“We will create an open-door policy for models that want to talk about mental health issues this will include addiction,” he said. “We are working on having counseling for both mental health and PREP available.
“We understand that it is more comfortable to discuss issues with people in your own community. We are working hard to create a place that offers not only a place to work for models but also a place to learn."
Ducati said that one of the goals of Next Steps is to offer hands-on training in photography and basic editing.
“I believe if we invite models to learn they might find a trade they love,” Ducati said.
Ducati, the 2013 XBIZ Gay Performer of the Year, owns his signature studio, as well as NastyDaddy.com, TrentonDucati.com and GentlemensCloset.com. He also operates affiliate program DucatiCash.com.
He recently signed a distribution deal with NMG, helmed by veteran adult marketer Megan Stokes.
In addition, he works with DylanLucas.com, Falcon Studios Group, Charged Media and Kink.com for some projects.
Ducati said that he’s continuing to celebrate Independence Day through the rest of the month, offering a deep discount for fans of hardcore bareback site NastyDaddy.com.
“We decided to give the gift of porn,” he said of the “America Fuck Yeah” sale. “Enjoy a discount of 33 percent off membership all month long.”
