LOS ANGELES — Amber Rose announced today that the 4th annual SlutWalk at Pershing Square in Downtown Los Angeles will take place Saturday, Oct. 6.
The SlutWalk is a movement of protest marches that started in 2011 when a police officer in Toronto told a group of female college students that “women should avoid dressing like sluts” to prevent sexual assault.
Rose — a model, fashion designer, hip-hop artist and former stripper — has been an influential voice for women's empowerment through the years.
She’s been able to sign on top brands to help sponsor the annual event (CAM4 sponsored last year’s SlutWalk, along with Reebok, Tinder and Beats by Dre, among others).
Last year, to get the word out, Rose posed bottomless in an Instagram photo, revealing her beaver and bush while announcing the SlutWalk event.
This year she’s mellowed. This morning sent out an Instagram pic of herself posed topless in a boxing outfit but with her arms across her chest.
Donning boxing gloves and shorts, Rose announced that the SlutWalk has been scheduled for Oct. 6.
She wrote in the Instagram caption: “Join me for the 4th annual SlutWalk at Pershing Square in DTLA and get your applications in to reserve your spot as an intern, vendor or sponsor by heading to the ‘get involved’ section of AmberRoseSlutwalk.com. I can’t wait to see all of my rosebuds”
