Trump Discloses Reimbursement to Cohen for Stormy Daniels Settlement

WASHINGTON — President Trump’s newly filed financial disclosure noted a payment connected to adult superstar Stormy Daniels, who has alleged an affair with him in 2006.

Federal law requires White House officials, including the president, to "report liabilities owed to any creditor that exceeded $10,000 at any time during the reporting period" to the Office of Government Ethics.

The payment is documented in a 92-page report as a reimbursement to Trump’s longtime attorney, Michael Cohen, of between $100,001 and $250,000 for expenses in 2016.

Cohen reportedly struck an agreement with Daniels, who will host the 2019 XBIZ Awards, weeks before the 2016 presidential election. Through a limited liability company, Cohen paid Daniels $130,000.

Trump’s new attorneys have disclosed he agreed to pay Cohen $250,000 in part for negotiating the nondisclosure agreement that was tied to the payment to Daniels.

The financial disclosure form covers last year and was reviewed and released by the Office of Government Ethics.

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics has asked the Justice Department and the Office of Government Ethics to investigate the omission of the Cohen liability from the 2017 report.
