Clips4Sale Recovers 8 Domain Names Found Typosquatting

LOS ANGELES — Clips4Sale.com, one of the adult entertainment industry’s leading brands with its downloadable video clip site, has scooped up eight domain names found typosquatting.

The domains in each of three separate UDRP cases — Cclips4Sale.com, Cllips4Sale.com, Clips4Ssale.com, Clips4Salle.com, Clips4Salee.com, Cliips4Sale.com, Clipps4Sale.com, Cliips4Sale.com — were created to divert internet traffic to competing websites in order to commercially benefit, according to arbitrators.

Arbitrators in the rulings found that each at-issue domain name contained a misspelling or misprint of Clips4Sale’s U.S.-trademarked brand name where an extra letter was inserted into the marks in forming the domain name.

“There is no doubt that [the respondents] picked the at-issue domain names precisely because they are easily confused with complainant trademarks and complainant’s trademarked Clips4Sale.com website,” said an arbitrator who ruled in one of the three cases involving six of the eight domains.

In each of the cases, arbitrators found that the typosquatting domain names were registered and used in bad faith, that the names were causing confusion among consumers and that the domain holders — Zhichao Yang of China, along with an unnamed respondent — had no rights or legitimate interests in the domain names.

The arbitrators ordered all of the eight domain names transferred to Clips4Sale.

Launched in 2003, Clips4Sale offers perhaps the most clips — 7 million — of mainstream, kink and fetish content on the market.

Through the years, its parent company, Wiluna Holdings LLC, has found numerous imposter domain names with copycat websites. Just this year, the company has won cases involving the domains Clips4Free.net, Clips4Free.org, Clips4Free.com and Clips4Free.cc.

In recent weeks, it also has filed UDRP cases against the domain holders of Clips4Aale.com, Clips4Sape.com, Clips4Wale.com, Clips4Eale.com, Clips4Saler.com, Clips4Salew.com and Clips4Dale.com.
