AdultFriendFinder Signs On as ASACP Platinum Sponsor

LOS ANGELES — Social networking site AdultFriendFinder.com has signed on as platinum sponsor of ASACP and will match the first $10,000 of donations made to the organization — an act AFF Director of Marketing "Legendary" Lars Mapstead said was inspired by the Restricted to Adults label.

Mapstead said AFF and parent company Various Inc. are strong supporters of the work ASACP does to protect children from exposure to adult content online, and the two are especially dedicated advocates of the organization's RTA labeling program, what Mapstead calls an important inter-industry effort.

"We are particularly strong advocates of the RTA labeling program that ASACP is promoting," Mapstead said. "We believe strongly in the self-regulatory model, and RTA is a powerful tool that websites can embrace."

Mapstead said its first step as platinum sponsor will be to match the first $10,000 in donations made to ASACP, and has begun a campaign to encourage members of the adult industry to participate.

ASACP Executive Director Joan Irvine told XBIZ that AdultFriendFinder will bring more than just financial support to her organization, shedding light on the adult industry's internal efforts to protect children.

"According to the Internet traffic tracking company Alexa," Irvine said, "AdultFriendFinder is ranked the 75th most popular site on the web, making it the highest viewed adult related website. This in turn means that the ASACP's RTA website label is seen by millions daily."

Irvine said ASACP is fortunate to have responsible partners like Various Inc. and AdultFriendFinder behind her organization, and their financial support and commitment to the cause further enable ASACP to fight child sexual abuse and meet the needs and expectations of both its members and supporters.
