LOS ANGELES — Call them mistresses. Call them courtesans. Call them harlots, temptresses or concubines. For thousands of years, they have commanded the attention of society’s every echelon, from the backwater bordellos of farmland peasantry to the opulent bedchambers of emperors and the glittering screens of cyberspace travelers.
They are biblical, these demi-goddesses. They are history-makers, these scarlet women. They are, in the eyes of many, the most alluring creatures on the planet, capable of conjuring the greatest ecstasies known to mortal man, wrought from an orgasmic crucible that births life itself.
And who else but Stormy Daniels in all of adult entertainment can claim the mantle of international mega stardom? Who else would Penthouse magazine dare name Penthouse Pet of the Century?
Who else would XBIZ name host of its crown jewel event?
"I'm so thrilled to be hosting our industry’s biggest night!” Daniels enthused. “It is such a huge honor and I'm already brainstorming ways to make the show extra amazing. I am so incredibly grateful for the opportunity."
With hundreds of scenes as a performer and nearly 100 movies to her name as a director, Daniels knows the value of a compelling narrative, especially when paired with buxom blondes, bodacious brunettes and petite spinners of every stripe.
Riding high from her early days as an exotic dancer, she forged a vibrant persona inspired partly by Mötley Crüe (bassist Nikki Sixx’s daughter Storm) and Daniels’ own Louisiana roots — she saw a Jack Daniels ad hailing it as “a Southern favorite,” and decided she too would become such a Daniels.
What may surprise many is that she began identifying as a Republican in 2010, announcing her intent to challenge incumbent Louisiana Sen. David Vitter for his seat. Renouncing her previous Democratic leanings at the time, Daniels stated the economic principles of Republicans were more in keeping with her libertarian values.
Such a complicated woman, of such sophisticated and beautifully savage predilections, is certainly a force to be reckoned with, belonging to no one but Digital Playground now, with whom she signed an exclusive deal after a decade-plus of contract directing for another famed studio. Over the years, her cinematic flair and complex storylines have netted Daniels dozens of awards and nominations, like Director of the Year for “Wanted,” which went on to sweep a great many categories in 2016.
And, her extraordinary allure crosses beyond adult entertainment, from appearing on mainstream fare like HBO’s “Real Sex,” FX’s “Dirt,” Maroon 5’s music video for “Wake Up Call” and comedy films like “The 40-Year-Old Virgin” and “Knocked Up,” to winning numerous blue ribbons in equestrian competitions.
Now, she shall electrify the 2019 XBIZ Awards with such a cyclone of celebrity carnage that all eyes will be transfixed upon what is sure to be a historic night.
And while her legal skirmishes with President Trump’s “fixer” Michael Cohen may ultimately imperil the embattled lawyer more than the commander in chief, it has certainly triggered a national debate in the field of law, with precedent-making impact. It has also, undoubtedly, made her the most famous adult film star of all time.
The XBIZ Awards is the grand finale of the annual XBIZ trade show in Los Angeles, honoring the very best in the business of sex across movie production, digital media, pleasure products and retail.
